Major Project Research — Artist 1 (David Hockney)
A I have worked with video and multi-screen projections for decades. I am always interested in how artists approach using this technological medium, despite the fact they may have worked previously in other mediums, such as paintings. David Hockney is such an example, an artist who freely admits that 'technology affect things all the time'.

Hockney (Figure 1) has been an artist of real interest to me for many, many years. He is now an old man in years, but still approaches art with a vigorous imagination and a willingness to embrace and experiment with new mediums. In recent years this has included the medium of video, which he has used to great effect when recording landscapes. See Figure 2. He describes video as a 'very serious medium'.
He is a wonderful talker. Below there are two links to video interviews with him. In the first (on YouTube) he talks about his interest in video as an artist's medium. Please listen to him (if you're interested!) around 5 minutes into the interview.
